Why run the Hackney Half Marathon?
One of the highlights of London's running calendar, the Hackney Half Marathon is much more than a race. Part of the wider Hackney Moves festival, it combines running, music, culture and community to create an unforgettable race-day experience.
The route takes you through the heart of East London, passing vibrant street art, historic Broadway Market and some of Hackney's most iconic locations. With live entertainment and cheering crowds lining the streets, every mile is packed with energy and atmosphere.

Fundraising
Our dedicated fundraising team is here to support you every step of the way.
Before registering, please make sure you're confident that you can reach the £350 fundraising target.
Most of our runners reach and often exceed their fundraising targets through support from friends, family and colleagues. We'll provide plenty of fundraising tips, resources and encouragement to help you do the same.
Setting up a JustGiving page is quick and easy, and all donations come directly to Terrence Higgins Trust.
As a charity, we contribute towards the cost of your place in the event. That's why reaching your fundraising target is so important. Every pound you raise helps fund vital services for people living with and affected by HIV.
If you have any questions about fundraising, please email [email protected]. We're always happy to help.
Event Accessibility
Wheelchair entrants are permitted at the Hackney Half Marathon. Hand cycles, however, are not permitted and all wheelchair participants must be self-propelled without support.
If you are a visually impaired runner or your disability and/or medical conditions means that you require a guide runner/assistant, the Hackney Half Marathon offer a free place to any guide runner for eligible participants.
For more information about taking part in the event as a wheelchair participant or as a guide runner, please contact the race organisers directly at [email protected].

Why we need you
Every mile you run and every pound you raise will help support people living with and affected by HIV.
Your fundraising helps fund vital services including our sexual health helpline, HIV testing, counselling and peer support programmes.
We are working towards ending new HIV cases in the UK by 2030 and creating a future where everyone living with HIV can access the support they need and live free from stigma.
Together, we can build a future where everyone affected by HIV has access to the support they need and nobody faces HIV-related stigma.
